Double-check that the lower hose clamp is accessible for future service. It is common to accidentally leave a clamp loose on the lower connection because of limited visibility.
Step 8: Reassemble the Front Fascia
Refill the coolant system before putting the bumper back on, because you will need to run the engine to burp air, and that is easier with the bumper off (allows visual inspection for leaks).
- Close the drain valve or reconnect any drain plug you used earlier. Fill the expansion tank with a 50/50 mix of G12 coolant and distilled water. Fill slowly to avoid air pockets.
- Start the engine and let it idle. Turn the heater to full hot, fan low – this opens the heater core circuit and helps purge air. Watch the coolant level and add more as needed. Rev the engine to 2500 rpm for a few seconds to encourage circulation.

Now reinstall the bumper in reverse order of removal. Torque the bumper bolts to 8 Nm (6 lb-ft) – do not overtighten, as the brackets can bend. Reconnect all electrical connectors and test the fog lights and parking sensors before finalizing assembly. Reinstall the wheel well liners and under-tray.
Step 9: Final System Checks
After a short test drive (5–10 minutes at varying speeds), park the car and allow it to cool completely. Recheck the coolant level – it will likely drop as air continues to escape. Top off as needed. Also re-torque the hose clamps after the first heat cycle – thermal expansion can loosen them.

Coolant leaks at hose connections

Sometimes the factory hose has a rigid section that does not compress evenly. Trim the hose end by 1/4 inch with a sharp utility knife to get fresh rubber into the clamp zone.
Difficulty seating the intercooler O-ring
If you cannot push the intercooler all the way in, check that the O-ring is not twisted. Remove the intercooler, lubricate the O-ring again, and try a rocking insertion motion. Also verify that the intake manifold port is clean and free of old sealant.
Check engine light after installation
